Guhagar Beach

Guhagar is a small town located within Vashishti River and Jaigad bay located along the Konkan coast with a very beautiful beach. The beach is a white sand beach is surrounded by the Suru trees. The beach is also adorned by a heritage temple and the restaurants along the beach serve finger licking sea food. Guhagar beach is a famous holiday destination.

This beach is considered as one of the first beach that forms the part of Konkan beaches. The beach stretches over an area of six kilometers bounded by two hillocks.

Best time to Visit

The maximum temperature goes up to 34 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature goes up to 18 degree Celsius. The area receives rainfall during the months from June to October. The area is located in a high humidity zone.

In the month of September, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in the area with all pomp and show.

The winter season is in the months from November to February.

How to Reach

Air

The nearest airport is the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai at a distance of 300 km. Taxi can be hired from airport to reach Guhagar at the cost of Rs 5000.

Rail

The nearest railway station is in Chiplun station that forms the part of Konkan railways. The rail line is connected well with Goa and Mumbai.

Road

The state owned buses operate from nearby cities to Guhagar. The Volvo bus service is also easily available from city of Mumbai and Chiplun. The ticket fare is almost Rs 900.
