The Ellora caves has a total of 34 temples that resemble the Buddhist, Jain and Hindu temple structures that came into existence in 350 AD and 1000 AD. The state of Maharashtra is majorly famous for its different temples. During the month of March, the festival held in Ellora caves brings the temple to life with traditional classical dances and music performed in the background.

The state of Maharashtra houses people from various communities who have given a colorful look to the state because of different cuisines, costumes, dance, music and many other distinguishable looks. The common costumes worn by the men in the state in the past were dhoti and pheta whereas the women used to wear choli and a saree. With the passage of time, people in Maharashtra have started wearing modern clothes.

- The women tourists are advised to wear loose fitted clothes since it is unsafe to wear fitted clothes in the state.
- The late night strolls should be avoided and not only the tourists but also the locals are advised to move in groups during night.

- Since the weather in the state is hot, it is advised that people should consume lots of water especially during the summers.

The most favorable time to visit the state is during the months of October to February. Maharashtra is among the states that are most likely visited by a large number of tourists. Travelers can visit the different tastes in the state like its beaches, temples and its heritage monuments. The buses owned by the state government run to and fro in the entire state of Maharashtra. The buses run under the Maharashtra Transport on the roads carrying the passengers smoothly on well networked roads of the state. The other modes of transport that run are taxis, auto rickshaw and the deluxe buses run by private transport owners. The most important means of transport are passenger trains that connect the major cities of the entire state. The most individual city rail network in the state can be seen in Mumbai that is used as a major transport medium by the people of the city.
