Location

The museum is located in Nizamuddin in New Delhi, just opposite to the Qawalli Hall in the shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Aulia. The museum was inaugurated by the then President of India, the Late Dr. Zakir Hussain in February, 1969. The founder President of the museum is Hakeem Abdul Hameed. The objects and exhibits displayed in the museum vividly capture some of the most defining moments and episodes from the life of Mirza Ghalib.

Information for Visitors

Ghalib Museum and Library is open to visitors on all days except Sundays from 1000Hrs to 1800 Hrs. The entry is free.

How to Reach

There are buses available from various parts of the city to reach Nizamuddin. The nearest railway station is the Nizamuddin Railway Station. Pragati Maidan is the nearest station when you travel by Metro. Indira Gandhi International Airport is the nearest airport.
