Computerized Bus Pass System
- On 1 July, 2007, DTC launched a much-awaited computerized Bus Pass System
- 33 Bus Pass Centers were computerized to help in swift and smooth delivery of bus passes to commuters, with one manual center too in operation
- The computerized system has made it possible for the issuance of bus passes in just 2 minutes
- A web camera will click photograph of the applicant, thus making it convenient for commuters to get ID cards too along with the bus pass
- The applicant will have to pay Rs. 15 as the additional charge for the issue of ID card-cum-bus pass.
- Bus passes will be issued as and how the commuters wish, be it for 1-2-3-4-5-6 or longer. Senior citizens can get bus passes for a year. Student concession passes will be valid only for a month though. Freedom fighters with disability too can get bus pass for a year.
- There will be neither the need for a security deposit nor is there a need for photographs that were the requirements earlier prior to computerization
- The charge of the bus passes will be as per the existing bus pass fare structure
