As you land in Delhi at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the arrival lounge there is a Tourist Counter. All the states also have their information centers in the city. Avoid the shops that have boards stating that they are Tourist Information Centers near the Railway Stations. They are not authorized information centers but are mainly run by touts that are out to befool the unaware tourists. 

It is best to go to authentic Tourist Information Offices that give correct information and help you with queries and problems. The location of Government of India Tourist Offices is given below. They are available for enquiry from Monday to Friday from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening and on Saturday from 9 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon.
