A popular hill station in Kerala, Grampi is situated about five kilometres away from Peermade. This place is also referred to as Parunthupara that means eagle rock. The name eagle rock given to this place is because it offers a wonderful panoramic view from an altitude from its high peaks. Reaching this destination is another attraction for the tourists as all around this place there are tea, cardamom and coffee plantations. After reaching at the top, the tourists are mesmerised from the wonderful scenes all around.

By Air

This destination is connected by air through the Cochin International Airport that is located in the Trivandrum City and is about seventy five kms. This city is the capital of the state of Kerala.

By Train

Kottayam is the closest railway station from this beautiful hill station at Grampi.

By Road

From Idukki, this beautiful destination is not very far away. The place enjoys good connectivity owing to a good network of roads. Several taxis and buses ply their services to this destination.

Getting Around

Getting around in this hill station is very easy and comfortable. Main modes of transport are readily available that connects the destination to nearby places. Weather of this hill station stays a little warm in the day but the mornings and evenings becomes slightly cooler. During day time, it can be humid too. From months September to March is the optimum time for the visitors to visit this hill station. At this point of time, the place is neither too hot nor cold. Also, the waterfalls just after rains gurgle with water and the cascading view of water from a height mesmerises the guests.

Peeru Hills

Peeru Hills is a popular place for trekkers. Many people come here for enjoying a picnic. The name of this hill is after Peer Muhammad. He was a popular saint. It is said that he spent his life’s last days here.

Pattumala

Pattumala is another popular tourist attraction close to this destination and is famous for its vast expanse of tea plantations. The meaning of Pattumala is draped in silk. There is a popular church too. The church is completely built of granite and has become a popular center for pilgrims. There is a flower garden too that is full of blooming flowers.

Vagamon
