Various Wildlife Destinations

Melghat Tiger Reserve

This tiger reserve showcases an enchanting sylvan beauty of greenery and woodlands in Melghat. Located in the district of Amravati, Melghat tiger reserve possesses a good population of tigers and a project named Project Tiger is being implemented here. This tiger reserve which lies in the heart of vast teak forests of Dhakna-Kolkaz is home to Chital, Sambar, Bison, Panthers and Flying squirrels.

Katraj Snake Park

Located in Katraj, near Pune, this snake park is not only home to a wide variety of snakes but many other animals too. Here you can see snakes of varied sizes and species but the centre of attraction id the King Cobra which is 9 feet long and has been brought in this park from Sunderbans. There is a zoo inside this snake park which boasts a rich collection of wildlife kept in a safe manner.

Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary

Known for its verdant dales and hills, Nagzira wildlife sanctuary offers a mesmerizing and astounding blaze of colors. Ambling in this beautiful location and idyllic environs, are the animals like Panther, Bison, Barking Deer, Chital, the Bluebull, four horned antelope, tiger and Sloth Beer.  Apart from these animals, there are many bird species as well.

The Navegaon Forest Reserve

This popular forest reserve located in the Vidarbha region was developed in 18th century. It possesses a picturesque lake amidst of beautiful lush green hills. This forest reserve has abundant variety of wildlife and bird species and one can even see the flocks of migratory birds every winter. The park offers the jungle safari with which visitors can witness the wildlife variety of the reserve.

Tadoba National Park

It is an extensive national park spread over acres of dense and lush green forested land. It is an exceedingly beautiful jungle composed by teak forests around a beautiful tranquil lake. This national park is abode to migratory ducks, swans and a variety of crocodiles. The lounges in the national park are ideal for nature lovers as the can spend some quality time admiring the beauty of nature.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park

In the midst of pictorial hilly areas of Borivali, Mumbai lies the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Quite near to the city, this national park is spread over a sprawling land of more than 100 sq. km. The animals which live in this park include Bonnet Macaque, Sambar, Hanuman Langur, Rhesus Macaque, Palm Civet, Mouse Deer, Barking Deer, Spotted Deer, Black Napped Hare and several species of birds etc.

The resident and migratory birds in this park include Egrets, Herons, Gulls, Drongos, Swifts, Mynas, Paradise Flycatcher and Kingfisher etc.
