Roorkee Group Museum And Archives
Roorkee Group Museum and Archives is primarily an army museum. The same was established in 1978 and contains large volumes of documents, paintings, pamphlets and historic books.
You can also find a large number of medals and portraits of Bengal Engineer Group in this museum. Some key weapons used by Indian Armed Forces are also displayed in Roorkee Group Museum and Archives.
Climate
Avoid travelling to Roorkee during summers as temperatures can touch 45 degree. September to March is the best time to plan a visit to the town as day temperatures are within bearable limits.
Timings
Roorkee Group Museum and Archives is open from Monday to Saturday. You can either visit in the morning hours as the museum opens at 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. During the evening hours, the museum operates from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The museum is closed on Sunday and other Government notified holidays.
