Located within Gita Dham Complex in Bhimtal, Lok Sangraha was established in 1983. You will come across shells, stone tools, wooden and metal utensils of pre historic era in Lok Sangraha.

Climate

Bhimtal is located at a distance of 22 km from Nanital. The place experiences pleasant summers but has cold winters and temperatures can fall well below freezing point. March to June and October to November are the ideal months to visit Lok Sangraha in Bhimtal.

Timings

Lok Sangraha is open throughout the week from 10 am to 5 pm. However, the museum is closed annually from July to September.

Pant Nagar Airport at a distance of 58 km from Bhimtal is the nearest air link to the town. Taxis are available at the airport itself and can be hired for a comfortable ride to the town.

By Rail

If travelling by train, you can disembark at Kathgodam railway station which is at a distance of 30 km from Bhimtal.

By Road

Uttarakhand State Road Transport Corporation runs bus service from Kathgodam to Bhimtal.
