Kamaraj Memorial House
Kamaraj Memorial House, as the name indicates is dedicated to Kamaraj. The memorial is located at T. Nagar in Chennai. Kamaraj was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for three terms and contributed immensely to the development of the State.
Kamaraj House was inaugurated by M.G Ramachandran, the then Chief Minister of the state in 1978.
History
Kamaraj House is a unique dedicated to the memory of Kamaraj, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. It is a permanent gallery which showcases the simplistic life which Kamaraj followed during his life.
This memorial spreads across two floors and has various personal belongings of Kamaraj. These include his numerous personal pictures which offer a unique glimpse into his life. Kamaraj House also has a `well stocked library which has a collection of books like Lok Sabha Debates, Doctor Zhivago and Churchill.
A collection of photographs of Kamaraj with important personalities like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajendra Prasad and Lal Bahadur Shastri also adore the walls.
Architecture
A blend of local and modern architecture can be seen at Kamaraj House. The simplistic furniture used in the interiors of the rooms in Kamaraj House adds another distinct touch to the building. A large hall which severed as a dining area for Kamaraj is distinctly marked in the Kamaraj House. A collection of momentums, shawls and books presented to Kamaraj can be seen on the second floor of Kamaraj House.

How to Reach
By Air
Anna International Airport is the air link of Chennai with rest of the world. Flights from all major destinations are available to Chennai. Taxis can be hired from the airport to T. Nagar for onward journey to Kamaraj House.
By Train
Chennai is well connected by the rail route and has three railway stations namely Egmore, Tambaram and Chennai Central. Taxis can be hired from the railway station to Kamaraj House in T. Nagar.
By Road
Chennai is connected by road to other parts of India by road route. Tamil Nadu State Road Transport Corporation operates bus routes to nearby cities of Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Cochin. Local buses can be hired from Chennai bus terminal to T. Nagar for onward journey to Kamaraj House.
