Valluvar Kottam

Recognised among the popular monuments of Chennai, Valluvar Kottam is created in memory of Thiruvalluvar, a well known Tamil poet, saint and philosopher. Constructed by the Koththanaars, the Valluvar Kottam lies at the juncture of the Kodambakkam High Rd and the Village Rd. This monument built in 1976 commemorates the memory of Thiruvalluvar who is the creator of the famous literary work Thirukural. This famous work with 133 chapters was written some 2000 years back. The corridor of the front hall features a bas relief with verses from Thirukural, numbering to almost 1330.

Ganapati Sthapati, this is one of the prime attractions in Chennai. Featuring apparently 3000 stone blocks, this is one of the contemporary landmarks in Chennai.
