Maharaja Express

It is a luxury train which is operated under the jurisdiction of IRCTC.  Started initially as a joint venture between the IRCTC and the COX and Kings, the train is now being handled by the IRCTC.

Praised by different organizations for its impeccable dining capability, the train provides the most expensive ride in India to the travelers. Internationally, the train is regarded as one of the best 25 coaches in the world. New facilities are being incorporated into it to make it more attractive and comfortable for people.


The maharaja Express compares right with the blue train of South Africa in terms of luxury. Studded with presidential suite spanning across the carriage, the train is stuffed with ultra modern amenities and boasts of numerous comforts to the guests. Be it the impeccable souvenir shop or the pneumatic suspension, they all add to comfort and razzmatazz of the train. Live television and a superbly spacious bathroom welcomes guest upon their arrival in the carriage. Maharaja Express was adjudged as the runner up by Conde Nast reader’s choice awards in the year 2011.


As a part of accommodation, the train comprises of exclusively designed 23 carriages with 5 deluxe cars.  They are complemented by six junior suite cars which can accommodate about 36 passengers, not to mention about 4 presidential suites with bar and spectacular lounge. Talking about the luxurious facilities, one can find Wi-Fi in every nook and corner of the train apart from DVD player and internet to listen to music and connect with family members.


The coach is embedded with two dining coaches for accomplishment of the five dining services.  With a total capacity of 42 people, it provides over the top comforts to its users. The presidential suite consists of an inbuilt dining room and a well spread out bathroom with a separate Jacuzzi. Coaches are adorned with two restaurants namely Rang Mahal and Mayur Mahal. The latter is not only endowed with a peacock theme in its decoration but provides a range of cuisines to the travelers on board.


Premium relaxation facilities are available to the people where in they can enjoy some of the most sumptuous drinks and food at the bar. A starters and loungers with reclines offer a tremendous experience to the tourists while they are travelling by Maharaja Express.


The souvenir shop inside the train houses some of the most distinct handicraft collections sourced from different states. The exquisite finishing soaked in tradition and culture is breathtaking. People get stuff from here  to gift their friends and relatives.


Heritage of India tours spans across 7 nights and 8 days with people able to visualize the exotic Ajanata caves in Mumbai. They transcend the ancient cities of Udaipur, Jodhpur along with Bikaner. The journey after moving through the states of Rajasthan culminates in New Delhi.

The tour package “Treasures of India” takes travelers from Delhi through the vast swathes of desert crisscrossing Ranthambore, Agra, Jaipur and Mumbai.
