Significance of Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagroan

Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagroan was built in the memory of Guru Gobind Singh. Legend has it that Guru Gobind Singh fought against the Mughals and died during the battle. He is the 10th Guru and is considered as the most admired one. He is also regarded for his work and the importance that he gave to learning archery as self-defence. During that time, the Mughal expansion had intensified and people were being tortured. Conversion had become an important political strategy and those who did not embrace Islam were killed.

The Sikhs were also influenced to convert but they denied and as a result two young sons of Guru Gobind Singh were entombed alive. This motivated the guru and he persuaded Sikhs to learn about warfare and use of weapons. In one such battle against the Mughals, the Guru was sacrificed and the place where he fell stands the Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagroan. The Gurudwara holds a lot of regard and importance as the area has been blessed by visit from the three gurus Guru Nanak Dev, Guru Har Gobind and Guru Gobind Singh.

Date of Construction of Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagroan
