Company Garden

Company Garden or the Company Bagh is a municipal garden maintained by the Garden Welfare Association and is basically a picnic spot housed amidst bamboo and deodar trees. Company garden, as the name explains about itself, is a garden of English age. It was laid by Dr. H. Fackner.

It is a nicely maintained garden which provides you few good photogenic opportunities, especially in front of the water fall and flowering bushes. The Garden offers stupendous views of the city hills.  A few little waterfalls add to the touch and some strolling space. The lush green gardens built in colonial style refresh the mind.

For kids, there is a small amusement park with some rides and swings with very reasonable charges. Don’t forget to ride the Columbus. Overall a nice place for a family with kids to spend some leisure time. If you go on a weekday, there are fewer crowds. There is a huge China tree in the garden, which is another attraction. Visitors enjoy sitting under this huge tree. There is a fountain at the centre of the park. You can also enjoy walking outside the garden on the track road.

There is an artificial lake in the garden which has boating facilities. Rs. 75/- per head is charged for a 15 minutes boating.

The bull ride is an adventurous activity in the Company Garden. It is a must try if you have never had it before and watched it only on TV. There are other games too. You can also do some air riffle shooting here.

There is a good restaurant inside the garden to enjoy good hygienic food. The restaurant is decorated with beautiful flower pots and offers a large variety of food and snacks. There are 10 to 12 shops in the garden where you can buy some memorable items.

A telescope is also placed in the garden. You can have a close view of the Himalayan mountain ranges at a charge of Rs. 10 only.
