Shri Sudhanshu Maharaj was a priest who had simple philosophies and beliefs which were encouraged by all religions from all over the world. He was born on 02nd May 1955 and founded and established Vishwa Jagriti Mission (VJM) in March 1991. Kirtan, Satsang, Yoga, meditation and spiritual activities are performed by Vishwa Jagriti Mission (VJM).

One of the Sudhanshu ji Maharaj Ashram’s is located in Bithur in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Bithur is situated 23 kilometres north of Kanpur city and is set on the bank of Ganges.

History

Sudhanshu ji Maharaj Ashram located in Bithur is run by Vishwa Jagriti Mission. The ashram has a vast campus and has an artificial Kailash mountain and Radha Krishma temple located on the premises. The ashram with Vishwa Jagriti Mission (VJM) is involved in the charitable activities. The Kanpur ashram has established Hospitals for poor and needy people. Here thousands of underprivileged people get free allopathic treatment here.

As per Hindu mythology, Bithur district is believed to be the birth place of Luv and Kush, who were the sons of Lord Rama. Also it is said that lord Vishnu and Brahma choose Bithur place to reconstruct the universe, hence this place is also called as Brahmavart. Bithur is also the birth place of Rani Laxmibai.

Best Time to Visit

Sudhanshu ji Maharaj Ashram is the popular tourist attraction in Kanpur, with various temples of Lord Krishna, Goddess Radha, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and Hanuman located inside the ashram. These idols are 8 to 20 feet tall and are set up in the beautiful garden of the ashram. The ashram premises has aquarium, different breeds of makau and parrots and has cave through which visitors can walk away. Amidst the peaceful backdrop, the Sudhanshuji Maharaj is located which gives peace to the mind and soul. For poor people there are non profit shelters/homes which are built behind the temple.

Best time to visit Bithur in Kanpur is from the month of October to April. Accommodation or lodging options are not available in Bithur, tourists need to visit the city of Kanpur for medium, economical and luxury hotels.

By Airways

Chaudhary Charan Singh airport in Lucknow is the nearest airport which is 87 kilometres away from Bithur. Flights from Bangalore, Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi daily ply from this airport daily.

By Railways

Kanpur junction is the major railway hub. The railway station is 21 kilometres away from Bithur.

By Roadways

Kanpur is well connected to all major cities through road. From all metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi state transport buses ply to Bithur, Kanpur.

Tourism

Tourists can visit various places near Bithur. Some of them are Valmiki Ashram, Patthat Ghat, Bhrahmavart Ghat, Dhruva Teela, various forts and ghats in Bithur. Around Bithur tourists can visit Shri Radha Krishna temple, Kanpur Memorial Church, and Jaimau. Tourists can go around on bicycles and view the village.

Visitor Information

The ashram can be visited from 8:00am to 7:00pm.

Temples remain open Morning 9:00am to 11:00am and evening 4:00pm to 06:00pm.
