The train is a five star hotel in motion and comes with all the trappings of world class luxury and comfort. It is the final word in luxury tourism and covers important tourist destinations in both Gujarat and Rajasthan in its own unique way.
History
The Royal Orient Train is a joint venture of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat and the Indian Railways. It is designed to showcase the best of culture and traditions of these two heritage-rich states of India. Passengers will have a great view of the different aspects of past and present Indian culture.
The Royal Orient Train made its first journey in 1994-95. It has a blue color theme to give the train its own special signature. The 7-day/8-night package is highly popular and in demand among Indian as well as international tourists and travel enthusiasts who prefer traveling in style and luxurious comfort of the highest standards. The train starts its royal odyssey from Delhi Cantonment Railway Station and covers important destinations in Gujarat and Rajasthan during its 8-day tour.
Coaches
There are 14 fully air-conditioned and magnificently decorated coaches in the Royal Orient Train, each named after various kingdoms of the Rajputana. Every coach has four twin-bedded cabins that come equipped with facilities like hot and cold water shower, state-of-the-art washrooms and toilets, channel music, games for children, and wall-to-wall carpeting. Apart from the 14 coaches, the luxury train also has two restaurants housed in kitchen cars. There is a lounge at the end of each coach offering an excellent view of the amazing countryside India is so famous for.
Attendants or khidmatgars decked up in smart, traditional attire are ready at all times, waiting to serve the various needs of passengers on board.

The Royal Orient Train has two restaurants cars. They serve exotic, delicious and traditional Indian food, including Gujarati and Rajasthani delicacies and Chinese and Continental cuisines. Passengers can order the choicest vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations. These are served in style along with a variety of hot and cold beverages.

‘The Watering Hole’ is the name of the well-stocked bar on board the Royal Orient Train. Passengers can enjoy both Indian and international labels of the finest alcohol brands. The bar serves premium liquors and is open 24/7.

Travelers on this ultra-luxurious coach can laze around in the well designed lounge which comes with color TV, a CD player, and customized channel music to keep them entertained. Schedule
The thrilling experience on board one of the most luxurious travel resources in India begins from the Delhi Cantonment Railway Station. The 8 days/7 nights journey takes the travelers on board through an enchanting travel experience. The train operates from September to April only. During other times it undergoes extensive maintenance.
