History
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels was launched in 2009 as an improvement on the already successful and iconic Palace on Wheels. The train is designed to provide passengers greater levels of comfort, more spacious travel and enhanced grade of luxury across all areas of travel. The luxury tourist train managed and operated by the Indian Railways and the RTDC or Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation offers a royal experience that encompasses the rich culture and heritage of Rajasthan. The train runs every Sunday from October to April.

Coaches
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is fitted with 14 luxury passenger coaches. Of these, 13 coaches have three deluxe saloons while the 14th coach offers two super deluxe saloons. The deluxe saloon – the extraordinary suite, has varied color themes of precious jewels – Ruby, Sapphire, and Pearl. The deluxe coaches provide a truly regal experience with their fine draperies and velvety spreads. They are superbly complemented by the delicately carved premium wood furniture. The Super Deluxe Saloons –the Emerald and Diamond Suites offer larger spaces. Comfort levels reach newer heights with carefully chosen premium bedding and best quality upholstery to match the stunning interiors.

Accommodation
The 14 carriages have 41 elegant and well-appointed cabins. They are categorized as Deluxe and Super Deluxe cabins and come with all the trappings of luxury and comfort. The beds in the Super Deluxe cabins are extra large and have color-coordinated draperies. The suite also has comfort stools, sofa-chairs and writing table to enhance the comfort levels. The Deluxe cabins are designed to match the feel of royal living.
Restaurants
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels has two restro bars named Swarn Mahal and Sheesh Mahal. The restaurants offer the best of gourmet dining experience with the choicest dishes from Rajasthani, Chinese, and Continental food. The stunning theme of glassware makes dining at Sheesh Mahal a delightful experience with crystal pelmets and floor lamps adding to the uniqueness of the place. The theme at Swarn Mahal is gold and brass which are used in a highly creative combination.
Bar
There is a well-stocked bar offering the finest Indian and foreign liquor brands in both the restro-lounges.
