Jaipur - A Pink City

Jaipur which is known as the Pink City of India is also the state capital of Rajasthan. It is also the prime handicraft center of the state. The most famous historical architectural endeavor of this city is the Hawa Mahal or the Palace or Winds. This palace has 900 small windows which work as an architectural ventilation system. It was also used by the ladies of the court to view the happenings taking place on the street below the palace. Other tourist attractions in Jaipur include Jantar Mantar and City Palace.

Bikaner - Sweetness in Sands

Bikaner is also sometimes known as the Camel City of Rajasthan because it is the prime city for camel breeding. It used to be the biggest trade city of the state during historical time. It is developing into an ultra modern city now. The camel festival is an annual festival which is organized here ever year and attracts a lot of crowd. Other tourist attractions in Bikaner include Junargarh Fort, Lalgarh palace, museums, etc.

Udaipur - Venice of the East

Udaipur is the beautiful city of lakes. It is considered to be the most romantic tourist destination in Rajasthan due to which it receives quite a many honeymooners. This place has some breathtakingly beautiful palace situated along the side of amazing lakes. The city palace which is the major tourist attraction of the city has richly ornamented pillars and carved balconies. The palaces are fairytale like. There are also museums and grand gardens in Udaipur.

Pushkar - Home of Fair

Pushkar is famous for its Pushkar Lake which is said to be created by Lord Brahma himself, the creator of our Universe. The Brahma temple in Pushkar is the only temple in India which is devoted to Lord Brahma. The annual Pushkar fair held in the month of November attracts a lot of tourists. This fair is popular because of its animal trading.

Jodhpur - A Tour To The Heart of Rajasthan

The second largest city of the state of Rajasthan is Jodhpur. Despite of the fact that it is located within the Thar Desert, Jodhpur has many beautiful lakes, palaces, parks, gardens and havelis. It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of the Thar Desert. The Umaid Bhawan Palace is an architectural masterpiece showcasing royal colorful chambers and delicately carved windows. There are many other beautiful palaces, forts and temples located in Jodhpur.

Jaisalmer - The Golden City

The city of Jaisalmer is named after a 12th century prince called Prince Jaisal. It is located in the western part of the state of Rajasthan. This place is extremely popular for its Jaisalmer Fort which is completely yellow in color because it is made from yellow sandstone. Another important tourist destination in Jaisalmer is Patwon ki Haveli which is a beautiful mansion with richly carved balconies. There are other royal havelis situated in the city as well.

Mount Abu - A Gateway to Chilling Rajasthan

The Nakki Lake situated in Mount Abu is very famous because it is believed that it was carved by the Gods themselves. It is the only existing hill station that you will find in Rajasthan. It also holds great importance to Jain pilgrims in India and has many Jain temples. The Jain Dilwara Temples are very unique and beautiful. In Mount Abu you will also find a wildlife sanctuary which houses many sloth bears.

Rajasthan is the epitome of cultural diversity. Other important places in Rajasthan include: Deeg which used to be the summer resort for Bharatpur rulers and is famous for its colorful fountains and richly decorated pavilions, Nagaur which is a very important city because of its link to martial history of the state, and lastly the rich flora and fauna which led to establishment of many wildlife parks and sanctuaries.
