Delhi

A metropolitan area, Delhi State also includes the city of New Delhi, national capital of India. The area of the city of Delhi is the largest in Indian Cities and Delhi is the second largest city of India after Mumbai in terms of population. Delhi is also the world’s fourth largest city with 22million populace as per 2011 census. In 1991, Government amended the constitution of India to include urban areas and NCT to form NCR (National Capital Region) with special status. The NCR region with nearly 22.2 million populace, comprise of the adjoining cities like Sonepat, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Greater NOIDA, Baghpat, Panipat, NOIDA  and other close by towns.

Shimla

Shimla is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India which was previously known as Shimla and situated in northwest India. Shimla is surrounded by Kinnaur in eastern side, Kullu and Mandi in northern side, Sirmaur and Solan in southern side and Uttarakhand state in southeast. The city of Shimla is located at elevations ranging from 350 to 2250 meters and is very famous focus for Indian tourism. Shimla is also amongst the ten most favorite commercial destinations of India.

Kasauli

Kasauli is a town and army station in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. Kasauli is 80km away from Shimla, Colonial India’s summer capital, so cantonment was established here in 1842. Kasauli is strategically situated 51km away from Panchkula and 68km from Chandigarh at an elevation of 1810 meters.

Solan

Solan town is headquartering the Solan district which was formed on September 1, 1972 and also a Municipal Corporation in the Himachal Pradesh State. Solan is situated at an average height of 1600 m in the south side of Shimla, the state capital; at a distance of nearly 50km. Solan derives its name from Shoolini Devi, Hindu Goddess. A three days fair is celebrated in the honor of Goddess at central ground of Thodo in the June month every year. Solan is termed as the “Mushroom city of India” due to huge farming of mushroom in this area and a research centre for Mushrooming at Chambaghat. Solan has also been the capital of ‘Bhagat’, an erstwhile princely state. The tomatoes are produced in very large quantity in Solan area giving it the name of “Red Gold City”.

Kufri

Kufri is situated on NH 22 at about 15km away from Shimla city and a beautiful little hill station of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh. The local language word “Kufr” which means a Lake is taken to name this hill station.

Kufri is the highest peak of this region and also has a Zoo of Himalayan Wild Life. This Zoo houses exceptional Felines, Antipoles and birds with Monal Himalayan bird which is also the Himachal Pradesh state’s bird. The twisted paths through the plantation of potatoes become the admired Ski pathway during the winter season.

Dehradun

Dehradun city is the capital of northern Uttarakhand state of India. Dehradun is the “Counter Magnets” of the National Capital Region (NCR) and is being developed as an alternative centre to help and ease the explosion of population growth in the metropolitan area of Delhi because it is only at a distance of 240km north of Delhi in Garhwal region. Dehradun is situated in the Doon valley of Shivalik foothills of the Himalayas and embedded between the Yamuna on the west and the Ganges on the east, the two revered and mightiest rivers of India. Dehradun is famous for pleasant weather and scenic backdrop and furnishes the entryway to all nearby regions like Nainital, Mussoorie, Auli and Hindu’s holy cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh  beside them the pilgrimage of Char Dham in Himalayan route.

Haryana

The Indian state of Haryana was carved out of the state of Punjab on language basis on November 1, 1966. Haryana has been the Part of ancient Kuru area of north India. The Apabhramsha writer Vibudh Shridhar (1189 to 1230 VS) found the name Haryana revealed in the 12 century AD. Haryana state is surrounded by Himachal Pradesh and Punjab in the north side and Rajasthan state in the southwest side. The Yamuna River is the border river of Haryana with Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The capital of India, Delhi is also bordered and bounded by Haryana from three sides: western, southern and northern. The large areas of Haryana, as a result of these three side’s border with Delhi, have been included in the NCR (National Capital Region) for different development purposes.
