The dancers sway to religious tunes even as the curd from the broken pot spills on their torsos.

Costumes in Kala Dance

The use of prop while the dance is in progress is also worth mentioning. This prop is nothing but a pot. As the curd spills over from the pot, the dancers sway around in ecstasy twirling sticks and swords symbolizing the ceremonial opening of the religious festival.

A variety of costumes are worn by performers of Kala Dance. These colorful costumes are usually in saffron, green and white. Dindi dance also engages the use of sticks.
