By Air

The nearest airport to the beach is Karipur International airport which is located at a distance of about 20 Km from Valikunnu. You can hire a taxi or take an auto-rickshaw to reach the beach.

By Rail

The nearest railway station to the beach is Tirur railway station which is located at a distance of about 25 Km from the beach and taxis or auto-rickshaws are easily available to reach the beach from the railway station.

By Road

Valikunnu is a small village in the any nearby city first, so in order to reach here via road one has to reach Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Calicut, Mysore, Ernakulum or Palakkad. From there, any roadways bus can be boarded to reach Valikunnu.

Weather

The weather is hot in summers while monsoon receives heavy rainfall. However, in the months of winter from October to March, the weather is very pleasant and thus, it is the perfect time to visit the place.

Azhimugham

This is the name of the place where Kadalundi bird sanctuary is located. It is actually the northern end of Valikunnu village and is the point where the Kadalundi River meets the Arabian Sea. This place is extremely famous for the beautiful seasonal birds that come here from different places throughout the year. The Kadalundi Kadavu Bridge offers an amazing spot for bird watching.

Niramkaithakkotta Temple

The Niramkaithakkotta temple is an imperative pilgrim spot in Malabar region and is one of the most significant Dharma Sastha temples in Malabar. It is thousands year old temple and several tourists come every year to seek blessings here. There is a well in the temple premises that provides holy water to the temple. It is believed that this well never dries or overflows and its holy water is from the sacred river Ganges. It is an underground well and the only way to fetch water is from inside the temple. It does not receive any sunlight.
