Some Famous Temple in Karnataka

Udipi Krishna Temple

The Krishna temple in Udipi is one of the most famous temples in the state. The Sri Krishna Mutt temple here dates back to the 13th century. This was the birthplace of the famous saint, Shri Madhavacharya.  This Udipi temple is an important pilgrimage destination for Vaishnavaites from all over the world. It is believed that the main deity of Lord Krishna here has been self-manifested, which adds to the beauty of the place.

Murudeshwara Temple

This temple is an important religious and tourist destination. Located across the Arabian Sea, this temple is famous for the big statue of Lord Shiva, the second largest statue in the world, at its entrance. The huge Raja Gopura of this temple is of 20 stories height and provides a majestic view to the onlookers. Many people from around the world come here to check for this Gopuram and Lord Shiva Statue.
