Kudle Beach

Kudle Beach is one of the five beaches located in the southern side of Gokarna. Gokarna is a small temple town in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. Kudle beach is one of the most popular tourist spots here and it is about 20 minutes walking distance from Gokarna. The pristine stretch of sandy beach with clear blue sea on one side and palm trees on the other give this place a majestic appeal.

Major Attractions

When you visit Kudle Beach, it becomes a must to visit the four other beaches of Gokarna as well, namely Om Beach, Half Moon Beach, Gokarna Beach and Paradise Beach. All of these beaches are different from each other but are equally beautiful. Lalguli Falls, Mahabaleshwar Temple, Anshi National Park and Kotitirtha are some of the places that are worth visiting in and around Kudle Beach.

Most of the spots in and around Kudle Beach can be visited on foot. However, taxis or autos can also be hired.

Things to Do

Most people who visit this place find it good enough to sit quietly and enjoy the view of the sea and surroundings. For those looking for excitement, they can opt for water sports that can be arranged under the supervision of professionally-trained instructors. Beach volleyball is also quite popular among tourists.

If you visit on a full moon night, you can enjoy a nice walk from Kudle Beach to Paradise Beach under the moonlight, which would make an extremely romantic evening.

Weather/Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Kudle Beach is between the months of October and March. Avoid visiting during summers when the mercury levels rise upto 40°C.

Nightlife

Kudle Beach is familiar with the occasional bonfires, guitars, singing and hum-drums. However, the party scene is kept in check by vigilant policing since the beach is located in a temple town. Occasional parties take place during the peak season though. Alcohol is banned due to the religious significance of the town.

One can choose from budget, mid-range and luxury hotels and resorts in Kudle Beach. Some of the most popular nearby places to stay would be Nimmu House, Om Beach Resort, Riveredge Paradise, Estuary View Resort, Arya Ayurvedic Panchakarma Center, Namaste Café, Sea Bird Holiday, Shastri Guest House, Bougaen Villa, Om Beach Ayurvedic Resort and SwaSwara. You can also stay in small huts along the beach, which are offered at extremely low rates by owners. However, you need to bring in your own bedding. The room is just big enough for a couple to sleep and keep a backpack.

Where to Eat?

The widely popular Sunset Café is to be found in Kudle Beach. Enjoy the delectable food and warm service in this shacks. There are other beach-side eateries available as well. Om Shree Ganesh Restaurant, Surya Cafe, The Dolphin View Restaurant, Sea Lounge are great places to eat. Do not miss to enjoy the sea-food at the shacks and the restaurants here as they are extremely delicious.

How to Reach

Rail

Gokarna is well connected by rail route from Ankola, Hubli, Mangalore, Karwar, Margoa and Kumta. Kumta and Ankola are the two nearest railway stations under Konkan Railways. The Matsyagandha express makes a stop at a station located 6 km away from Gokarna as well.

Air

The nearest airport is to be found in Goa at Dabolim.

Road

Gokarna is well connected by roadways. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation facilitates several buses to this area from various cities and towns.
