These ministers helped the Maharaja in daily administration.

On one end of the palace there is a huge treasury house with antique interiors. The treasury house is popularly known as Toshakhana by locals here.

Exhibiting immense architectural excellence, this palace is interestingly made of red bricks and mortar. The palace also puts on exhibition of valuables made of gold and some antique objects.

Majestic columns and arches with intricate carvings reflect the sophisticated architectural style of that era. The art and architecture of this palace reflect both Mughal and European style.

  • By Road- If you want to enjoy scenic views, travel to Jammu by road. One can take buses and cars to get here.

Best Time to Visit

The divine and mystical ambience of Jammu is inviting for tourists from India as well as abroad. The air of this place is filled with spirituality since a large number of mosque and shrines are found here.

Jammu has a tropical climate with pleasant summers and frozen winters. Summers in Jammu last from May to July. Winter season covers a major part of the year. Temperature during winters drops to sub zero levels. Tourists regard the April to October as the best time to explore the natural bounties of this region.

This palace is open for visitors from 10 am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening. It is open on all days excepting Sundays and public holidays. It takes around 2 hours for visitors to explore the palace completely.

Managing Authority of the palace is very strict regarding timing therefore visitors should be particular about it.
