Duggan Valley is in the Kathua District close to the town of Bani. Transportation in the form of taxis and buses is available from Bani and Kathua to Duggan Valley.

By Air

The closest airport to Duggan Valley is the Sawari Airport in Jammu. Jammu is around 94 Km from Bani. Buses and taxis are available at regular intervals from Jammu to Bani. From Bani, visitors can take taxis or local transport to Duggan Valley.

By Train

The nearest railhead from Duggan Valley is the Jammu Tawi railway station at Jammu. Jammu is connected to all the main cities in India. From Jammu tourists can take buses and taxis to reach Bani or Kathua and then further to Duggan Valley.

By Road

Duggan Valley is best reached by road. It can conveniently be reached from Kathua and Bani. Kathua and Bani are connected to major cities of Jammu and Kashmir. Tourists can take buses operated by Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation from Jammu and Srinagar. Taxis and car rentals can also be hired to get to Duggan Valley.

Best Time to Visit Duggan Valley

Duggan Valley features a wonderful climate. The winters experience a lot of snowfall and are very cold. The summer months are lovely and have moderate temperatures. Duggan Valley is an excellent destination for the summer holidays. The best time for visiting Duggan Valley is from March to June.

  • Winters (October to February) are the time when the entire valley is covered with snow and not much can be seen except snow covered peaks and trees. The temperature can go below zero degrees. The winters are great for those who wish to see snow and snowfall.
  • Summers (March to June) are the most preferred time for visiting Duggan Valley. Tourists can enjoy views of lush greenery and also enjoy some trekking expeditions around this time. The temperature during the summers is moderate and enjoyable.
  • Monsoon (July to September) months receive adequate rainfall. The terrain can get slippery and trekkers can face challenges because of this.

Tourists should choose to travel to Duggan Valley during the summer months. The winters are also good for visiting but the temperature is too cold to enjoy outdoor activities. If planning to visit Duggan Valley in winters then the start of winters or the end of winters are suitable. Monsoons can also be chosen to visit the valley.
