ISKCON Gate And Temple

Where Exactly is This Temple

The ISKCON temple, one of the temples of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, is located right at the front of the famous Dwaraka temple. There are hundreds of idols of Krishna and Radha in the temple. The Dwarakadish temple with its tall and majestic structure is easily visible from the roof of this ISKCON temple. What differentiates this temple in Gujarat from all the other ISKCON temples across the world is the fact that this temple is fully built out of stone. In the history of ISKCON that spans across many decades, this is the first of its kind to have used stone for the entire construction.

Facilities

The devotees, who visit this temple from countries all over the globe, will be pleasantly surprised to note that there is a decent guest house right next to this temple with 20 rooms that are neat, hygienic and affordable. This is a sure blessing for devotees who travel a long way as it proves to be an ideal place for the tourists to get refreshed before visiting the temple. The only obstacle that tourists might face is regarding the path that leads to the temple. The lanes are very narrow and not so neat. However, the tranquillity and ambience of the temple helps the devotees forget the hardships that they had to endure for getting inside. Once inside the temple, the devotees can only look in wonder at the beauty of the architecture in stone. The captivating beauty and peaceful atmosphere inside the temple helps the devotees to find the Inner Peace that they have been craving for.

Moreover, the rooms of this guest house overlook the sacred Ganges River which adds to the pious nature of the temple. The Aarti of the temple is visible from the balconies of the rooms in these guest houses which is a real visual treat for the devotees.

The Beauty of the Structure

Unlike most of the temples, the ISKCON temple at Dwaraka is not easily identifiable from the entrance. On the path leading to the main Dwarakadish temple, there is a big gate that opens up to narrow lanes. Though it doesn’t look like a temple from the outside, devotees are in for a pleasant surprise once they actually visit the temple. The idols of Lord Krishna and Radha are so aesthetically designed and they look very beautiful. Devotees have ample space inside to sit quietly and engage in meditation or chant prayers with peace. The most interesting point that makes the devotees fall in love with this temple is the neatness of the rooms and the temple premises. The neatness and hygiene are trademarks of all ISKCON temples all over the world and this one at Dwaraka is no exception. Devotees who come in large numbers to offer prayers to the Dwarakadish temple do not miss to visit the ISKCON temple as well as this is situated right at the entrance of the Dwaraka City. The temple that is built of stone may not have a grand exterior; but the interiors tell a different story altogether.
