History

Built in 1924 by Seth Mangaldas Girdhardas of Ahmadabad, this heritage house has seen long years of ups and downs. His family was a known textile industrial house in Gujarat during the early 20th century. For providing residence for his family, Mangaldas constructed this palatial house in centre of the city which had many designs conceived by him. After his death in 1950, most of his family members moved out and the house remained vacant. In 1994, this house was taken over by Victoria Capital Ventures Ltd and converted it into a heritage hotel. In later years, son of Mangaldas, Abhay Mangaldas, hotelier by profession and hobby renovated the entire building in a unique manner.

Interior Decor

With ingenuity and intense business acumen, Abhay Mangaldas converted this old family residence in a crumbling state to a modern yet traditional and ethnic hotel for business travellers. Suites and deluxe rooms are decorated with family portraits against well painted walls with large poster beds and swings inside the rooms. There are 10 spacious rooms, each with its personal balcony, having some features that express the heritage nature of this palatial building. Feeling of inherent tradition and culture is found in these rooms, where wooden screens hide the air-conditioning, restored family furniture, mirrors decorated in the old style with wooden panelling, switchboards for lighting, terracotta works and ivory exteriors give it a boutique appearance.=

Well Furnished Bathrooms

If the interior decor of the rooms impresses the guests with an addition luxury of modernized bathrooms. Old world tiling and nostalgic touches to the teak washstands and other fittings in the bathroom will transform the ambience into earthly feel. There are also facilities for internet and broadband connectivity in the large conference rooms, adding modern touch to this House of Mangaldas Girdhardas.
