They were looking forward to fresh avenues for reaching out to a younger generation of arts students, critics and patrons. The artistic vision of a new set of geniuses received encouragement through the creation of Delhi Art Gallery, founded in the year 1993. DAG has painstakingly categorized chronological passage of the entire movement of modern art in India. The gallery has a collection from remotest parts of the country to give a pan Indian look. Many artists, who earlier lacked a forum to exhibit their works of art, were provided an opportunity to share their talent with other stakeholders in the field of arts. The collections of arts were located, compiled, restored and made ready for exhibition. During this process, a very large inventory of artworks was made. DAG has over four hundred  artists, including painters and sculptors, whose works make the treasure trove. Mr. Ashish Anand carried forward the work of DAG, since 1996.

DAG has works of art pertaining to artful depictions of gods and goddesses. Creations of earlier British painters and from artists of Bengal School of Art find a rightful place for the benefit of new learners in the field of art. Leading painters of current generation also have contributed to exhibits through their modern creations. Progressive Artists Group’s artworks are also part of the rich inventory of DAG. Theme based exhibitions at the gallery offer glimpse of individual creations. DAG has also a presence in Mumbai at Kala Ghoda, Fort. DAG has also opened in New York City.
